Team Work

This design set was a labour of love as it was another long-distance affair, with both bride and groom in the airline industry they are a match made in the clouds.

The end product was gorgeous with its delicate yellow, pearl white, damask swirls and the perfect shade of taupe. These colours in exactly the same tones and themes ran through the entire wedding – from dresses, invitation stationery and reception stationery, to soft furnishings.

No detail was too small and we were immensely proud to hand them over.

The Creative Process Begins

At Starfish Lane we create our very own illustrations in-house. With the world as our inspiration we are always dreaming up new things that just can’t be found anywhere else.

The Designing of the Collection

Using our illustrations we create Wedding Stationery Collections. The Blush Protea with Geraldton Wax has been carried from the invitation, and it’s coordinating pieces, all the way through to table seating plan, wine labels and thank you cards.

The Collaboration

We love our customers when they love our work and want to make it their own, a truly collaborative design evolved with this gorgeous couple.

The specifications:

trifold invitation – everything in one place.
Starfish Lane’s Blush Protea with Geraldton Wax illustrations.
a hand-drawn map of the location.
the handwritten monogram of their names as used in their save the date.

We tied this together using a blush pink watercolour wash which carried the colour through the length of the invitation.

Simple fonts ensured that all the information did not become overwhelming to the eye and a simple yet classic Reply Card with matching envelope to finish off.

The Original Design

The word of our creative quality and craftsmanship has travelled far and wide.

The lovely Alyce, although 1646km’s away, had selected our Elegant Gold Dot as her ideal style of invitation. This style is where function meets beauty. The individual items stagger into the pocket giving a clean simple finish which allows the fonts and printed paper to shine. The full but functional bow gives the invite a 3D effect and adds the traditional finish to an on-trend design.

Creating the Vision

Designing with her specifications of abundant blooms we created a custom paper.

We love puzzles and creating paper is like one giant puzzle except there’s no right or wrong position, just the artist’s eye for colour, balance and beauty.

… and ta-da, we bring you a garden bed like no other.

A Beautiful Start to a Beautiful Beginning

The final product was a resounding success with Starfish Lane assembling the order, all Alyce had to do was tie the bows and she assured us that by the 5th bow she could be considered a professional bow ‘tie-r’. Thanks to social media, guidance was never far away.

We worked together with via email, phone and the good old Australia Post to make her wedding stationery dreams a reality. All whilst managing to keep with our 14 – 21 working day turnaround time + of course postage time.

Being far away does not mean one should forgo personalised design, creative expertise and top customer service.
